Birdies and eagles might be the field’s focus for the upcoming WV NCAC Golf Outing , but a close-up look at how the Mountaineers are going to ‘tee’ it up this fall in football, and the state of WVU athletics in general, will be the subject of the post-tournament ceremony, courtesy of WVU Athletic Director Oliver Luck. Luck has confirmed his appearance at the annual event at Westfields Golf Club in Clifton, VA, on April 25th, at which he will speak to the golfers and other attendees about WVU sports programs.
“We are ecstatic to have Oliver join us for this year’s tournament and sincerely appreciate his commitment and support of the National Capital Area Chapter’s cause of raising funds to support DC-area students and athletes attending WVU,” said WV NCAC President Darren Feeley. ”We know Oliver has numerous demands on his time, and his willingness to come to the tournament and talk with DC-area alums is another great example of his outstanding leadership and dedication to the Mountaineer family.”
The tournament is being held at Westfields for the third consecutive year, and registration to play is now open. Sponsorship opportunities are also available, including the post-tournament dinner at which Luck will be the featured speaker. The winning team receives automatic entry (including free accommodations and airfare) into the Acura College Alumni Team Championships at the legendary Pinehurst Golf Resort in North Carolina.
